Jessica Holloman (nee Starks), a 2010 graduate and native of Akron, Ohio, made her name in the short sprinting events while on the track & field team at Capital. A five-time outdoor All-American and 14-time NCAA Qualifier, Jessica holds four school records and sits second all-time in a fifth event. In 2008, Holloman earned three All-American honors at the outdoor national championships where she finished fifth in the 200 meter dash, seventh in the 100 meter dash, and was the second leg in the 4x100 meter relay that placed eighth overall. A year later at the 2009 national championships, Jessica placed eighth in the 200 meter dash and was again a member of the 4x100 meter relay team, this time finishing third overall. Jessica is one of the few student-athletes to compete at four national championship events, qualifying in at least two events each year she was in the program. On top of her outdoor success, Holloman also qualified to the 2008 and 2009 indoor national championships in the 55 and 60 meter dash events.

In the OAC, Jessica was named the 2007 Most Outstanding Sprint Athlete at the outdoor championships. Additionally, she was a recipient of the 2007 USTFCCCA All-Academic award.

On the Capital record boards, Jessica is the current school record holder in four events. Indoors, she holds the fastest time in the 55 meter dash (7.27 seconds) and the 60 meter dash (7.73 seconds). Outdoors, she boasts the top time in the 100 meter dash (12.02 seconds) and the 200 meter dash (24.66 seconds). Additionally, she is second all-time in the indoor 200 meter event with a time of 26.08 seconds.

Jessica now resides in Columbus with her husband Alvin Jr. and her children Alivia, Aloni, Christian, Aaron, and Arianna. She works as an Accounting Coordinator with CME Federal Credit Union heading up the ACH and payroll areas for the company. She is currently studying for her AAP certification as well. Jessica credits her time as a student-athlete at Capital with helping her understand her self-awareness. She began thinking about the things she truly wanted out of life while at Capital, and having her improved self-awareness, she has allowed herself to continually try new things and discover new interests personally, socially, and professionally.
