MEDIA GUIDELINES
Game Credentials - All credential requests should be forwarded to Sports Information Director, Nick Astalos. Credentials are limited to professionals working in the print, broadcast, or electronic media, and their issuance is at the discretion of the sports information director. Please make requests for credentials at least three days in advance of game day.
Player/Coach Interviews - The Sports Information Department serves as the main liaison between the media and Capital's student-athletes, coaches, and staff members. Media requests following athletic events, coaches and players are subject to a 10-minute cooling off period, per NCAA guidelines. All requests must go through a representative of the Capital Sports Information Department, or an approved Capital University representative. Coach or student-athlete contact information will never be distributed unless permission is given.Â
Visiting Team Broadcasting - Please contact the Capital Sports Information Department at least three days in advance of the game which you would like to broadcast. Phone lines, LAN lines, and/or wireless access are available at the Capital Center and Bernlohr Stadium at no charge, on a first come, first-serve basis.
Photography -Â Photography is permitted with approved media credentials at all Capital Athletics events. Photographers shooting from playing field level must make the sports information department aware of their work and must follow all NCAA guidelines concerning in-game athletics photography. Please be advised that photographers assume all risk if entering the playing area of an athletic event.
Image requests - If you would like to obtain an image seen on the Capital Athletics website or any of its social media accounts, please contact the CU Sports Information Department for arrangements or contact info of photographers. All images used must be given proper photo credit.
"Comets" Nickname - In accordance with the retirement of the "Crusader" nickname, when referencing to Capital University athletic teams, please utilize our new nickname, the "Comets". We ask you to refrain from use of the term "Crusaders" in live broadcasts, recaps and publications. Other references that are acceptable are Capital Athletics, Cap, or The Purple and White.
Visiting SIDs - Please send any and all game files to Nick Astalos at the conclusion of all contests.  If scoring changes need to be made, please resend updated files to both parties.
