Daniele (Manalac Sanna) Goncz was a critical member of the Capital women's basketball program throughout her career. Her efforts on the court were capped off with an All-American nod in 2009, the same season in which she was named the OAC Player of the Year. In addition to her national and conference recognition, Goncz was also named to the All-Region third team. During that nationally recognized season, Goncz helped lead her team to a 22-6 overall record, which included a 15-3 OAC mark. She averaged 13.5 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per contest that year. The Purple and White culminated that season by winning the OAC Championship and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. Prior to her dominant 2009 season, Goncz was also instrumental in the program's successes, as she also received OAC award recognition during the 2007 season.Â
Goncz currently resides in Powell, Ohio with her husband Jason and their four children – Christopher (CJ), Alexis, Addison, and Dominic. Daniele also credits her parents Steve and Michele for their support throughout her career and beyond. She works as an Operations Manager with Dome Financial.Â
