Jacob Butler has etched his name in the history books of Capital baseball over time as he is one of just two players to have been named the OAC Player of the Year – an honor he won during his senior year in 2007. Butler was a three-time All-OAC player, being named first team in 2007, honorable mention in 2006 and second team in 2005. In addition to conference recognition, Butler also earned Rawlings/ABCA All-Mideast Region honors during his senior year. Among his awards, Butler's name still remains on the program record boards as his 59 hits in 2007 are the sixth most in a single season at Capital. His 55 hits in 2005 mark the eighth most. In terms of single-season batting average, Butler holds the fifth and sixth best marks in program history, hitting .440 in 2005 and .434 in 2007. His 75 total bases in 2007 also ranks him ninth all-time in that category.
