COLUMBUS, Ohio - Capital baseball's
Robby Harrison and
Dawson Lewis have both been named to D3baseball.com's Team of the Week on Wednesday, Mar. 11. This is the first time both athletes have earned this honor in their career.
This award comes after the team's trip down to Vero Beach for spring break, where they would go 5-3 in eight games of action.
Robby Harrison earned the award at the catcher position, where he would go 12-25 at the plate for an average of .480. The senior displayed his power all week long, logging four doubles, two triples, and one home run. Harrison would tally 11 RBIs in total throughout the week. He would also make his presence felt on the defensive end, throwing out five runners from behind the dish.
Earning the honor as a relief pitcher was
Dawson Lewis. The freshman made his first three appearances of the year out of the bullpen, earning both his first career win and save. He would finish with a line of six innings pitched, zero earned runs on just one hit, and two strikeouts.
The Capital University baseball team will be back in action Saturday, Mar. 14 for a doubleheader against Bluftton and Chatham. Both games will take place at Beavers Field in Lancaster, with first pitch of game one set for 10:30 am.
