Comets Overpower Lebanon Valley | Earn 9-2 Win

VERO BEACH, Fla. - The Capital University baseball team was back on the diamond on Friday, Mar. 6 for a match-up with Lebanon Valley College.  Looking to end their three game skid, the Comets would show up in a big way, earning the 9-2 victory.  With the win, the Comets now stand at 8-3.  Meanwhile, Lebanon Valley falls to 2-5 on the season.

The Comets, who came into the game looking to rediscover some of their offensive identity, would do just that, consistently putting good swings together in their at-bats early.  Despite the consistent contact, however, Capital would score just one run through the first five innings of play, coming from a no-doubt Robby Harrison solo shot in the top of the second.

Nash Andrix was dominant in his second start of the week, going five strong innings allowing just one run on two hits and two walks.  The sophomore would finish his line with three strikeouts.

The game would remain tied at 1-1 until the top of the sixth inning, where the Comets would put up a four spot on the board.  Two runs would come by way of a two-run homer off the bat of Kielan LaMarr, followed by two more runs brought in from a Harrison triple.

Coming into the ballgame in relief of Andrix was Casey Wilkins, who pitched three strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits.  Wilkins would also finish the game with three punchouts.

Capital would put the game out of reach in the top of the eighth, scoring four more runs and bringing the game to its eventual final of 9-2.

Throwing the final frame for the Comets was Dawson Lewis, who would end the game by setting the Flying Dutchmen down in order.

Robby Harrison was the motor offensively, finishing just a double shy of the cycle.  The Comets' backstop would finish his day with three RBIs and a run scored.

Kielan LaMarr's homer in the sixth inning would be his second of the season, as the senior finished with two RBIs.
