COLUMBUS, Ohio - Capital University delivered a dominant offensive performance on Tuesday afternoon, cruising past Heidelberg University, 21-4, in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Bernlohr Stadium.
The Comets improve to 7-8 overall and 5-3 in conference play, while the Student Princes fall to 5-11 (1-7 OAC).
Capital wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for seven first-quarter goals and never looking back. The Comets carried a 7-0 lead after one and extended it to 16-2 by halftime behind a relentless offensive attack and strong possession play.
Aiden Evans led the way with a game-high seven goals, adding to an already explosive outing for the Capital offense. Jess Lipp turned in a historic performance, tallying five goals and six assists for 11 points, tying the single-game program record for both assists and total points. Mason Miller contributed four goals and three assists, while Braylon Dawson added two goals and an assist.
The Comets controlled nearly every statistical category, out-shooting Heidelberg 66-22 and holding a commanding 51-15 advantage in ground balls. Capital also dominated the face-off, winning 25 of 28 attempts, led by Freddy Noday, who went 13-for-14.
Capital's defensive unit held Heidelberg scoreless for the entire first quarter and limited quality opportunities throughout the contest. Goalkeepers Wyatt Stemler and Luc Kadlic combined for eight saves in the win.
The Comets continued to build their lead in the second half, adding three goals in the third quarter and two more in the fourth, while maintaining control of possession and tempo throughout.

Capital will now wait for the rest of the Ohio Athletic Conference to complete their final contests, which will determine where they will be seeded in the conference tournament. The quarterfinal round will begin on Saturday, Apr. 25.
