GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Tuesday afternoon, four Capital University volleyball players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for their combined work in the classroom and on the court this season.
Selected this year were seniors
Samaree Perkins and
Ryann Bunyak, junior
Chloe Preocanin and sophomore
Abby Reed. Perkins is a second time recipient of All-District honors in volleyball having also won the award in 2024. Perkins has also won the award twice in women's basketball. Bunyak, Preocanin and Reed are all first-time recipients of the CSC Academic All-District honor.
On the court this season, Perkins finished with 146 kills, 58 digs, 41 blocks and 15 aces. Bunyak recorded 186 kills, 33 digs and eight blocks. Preocanin ended the year with a team-high 192 kills to go with 159 digs, 32 aces and nine blocks. Reed ended her sophomore season with 91 kills, 50 digs and 23 blocks.
To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must be at least sophomore academic and athletic standing, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (not-rounded), and meet other high athletic standards.
