COLUMBUS, Ohio - The D3hoops.com Preseason Women's All American team was released on Wednesday, Oct. 29.  Receiving fourth team honors for the forward position was Capital's
Samaree Perkins.  She is the first player in program history to receive this honor, as the award dates back to the 2010-11 season.

The senior comes into her final year after a very impressive junior campaign.  Perkins, a native of Pittsburgh, finished last season averaging a double-double, with 16.4 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game.  She would score a career high 32 points against Baldwin Wallace.  Along with adding 43 assists, Perkins was a force on the defensive end, recording 35 steals and 21 blocks.  In her junior year she was named All-OAC first team and D3hoops.com All-Region Second Team.  The list goes on as she was named to the D3hoops.com team of the week twice and OAC Athlete of the Week three times.

The accolades continue to be seen in Perkins' sophomore and freshman year.  In the 2023-24 season, 12.9 points per game and 10.1 rebounds a game earned her All-OAC first team honors.  In her freshman year, she would be named the OAC freshman of the year.

Perkins, who is also a member of the Capital volleyball team, looks to continue her strong play in her final season.  She and the Comets will begin their season on Saturday, Nov. 8 when they take on Mount St. Joseph at the Capital Center.  Tip-off is set for 6 pm.
