COLUMBUS, Ohio – As announced on Tuesday morning, two Capital University women's basketball players – Bri O'Connor and Samaree Perkins – have been named to the D3hoops.com All-Region VII teams at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. 

O'Connor was selected as a First Team honoree and is a three-time recipient of All-Region as she has been Second Team the past two seasons. Perkins was selected to the Second Team All-Region as her first regional accolade. 

In Capital history, this season marks the first time since 2010 in which two Capital players have received All-Region in the same season. In 2010, Caitlin Elsass and Kristen Richardson both received the honor. Additionally, O'Connor is just the second three-time D3hoops.com All-Region recipient (joining Sara Heitkamp '04-'06) and she is the first First Team honoree since Richardson in 2010. 

During the 2024-25 season, O'Connor was named both the OAC Player and Defensive Player of the Year as well as First Team All-Conference. She scored 21.3 points per game while adding 4.9 rebounds per game. Additionally, she totaled 85 assists, 93 steals and 10 blocks on the year. Furthermore, she left her name in the Capital record books, setting a new career record for free throw percentage (82.6%) and moving to 7th all-time in points scored with 1,450. 

This season, Perkins put up career numbers as well, scoring an average of 16.4 points per game to go with 10.6 rebounds per contest. She also contributed 43 assists, 35 steals and 21 blocks. During the season, she was awarded All-OAC First Team and was twice named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. Perkins currently stands 5th in all-time career rebounding with 735 boards and is 16th in career scoring with 1,056 points.
