GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Tuesday afternoon, four Capital University women's basketball players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams for their combined work in the classroom and on the court this season.
Representing the program are seniors
Bri O'Connor,
Laney Murphy, and
Maddi Weiland and junior
Samaree Perkins. O'Connor, Murphy and Perkins are all repeat honorees, while Weiland is a first-time winner.
To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must be at least of sophomore academic and athletic standing, must have at least a 3.50 GPA cumulative GPA (not-rounded), and meet other high athletic standards.
Of those featured on this list, O'Connor and Perkins have been advanced to the national ballot to be voted on for Academic All-America honors. A first, second and third team Academic All-America will be released on April 16th once national voting has been compiled.
