WESTERVILLE, Ohio - On Monday, Nov. 10, the Ohio Athletic Conference released their first player of the week award for the 2025-26 women's basketball season.  Earning the award was Capital's Samaree Perkins.
 
This is Perkins' fifth career player of the week honor, as she earned three in her junior season and one in her sophomore season.  The Capital athletic department is now up to 11 weekly honors in the 2025-26 calendar year.
 
Perkins, who was tabbed a D3hoops.com fourth team preseason All-American, was dominant on both sides of the ball in the Comets' first game of the season.  In the match-up with Mount St. Joseph, the senior would finish with 19 points and 19 rebounds.  Of those 19 rebounds, nine of them would come on the offensive end.  To top off her strong start to the season, she would also add an assist and a steal.
 
The women's basketball team will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 11 for a home match-up with Franklin College.  The game will tip-off at 7 pm.
