WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the first time this season, the Capital women's golf team has earned an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Golfer of the Week, as senior Emma Konopa received Co-Golfer of the Week honors following a record-setting weekend.

At the OAC Fall Preview, Konopa set two school records for both an 18-hole round and a 36-hole tournament score. To start the preview, Konopa carded a two-over-par 74, marking the best 18-hole score in program history and beating the previous record of 77 by three strokes.

To close out the weekend, Konopa stayed hot, shooting an 83 to bring her 36-hole total to 157. The previous program record was 161, set by a Comet, which Konopa surpassed by four strokes. With her scores, Konopa finished the weekend tied for the individual win with Otterbein's Aimee Hayes, who was also named OAC Co-Golfer of the Week.

The recognition marks the first OAC weekly honor for the Capital women's golf team this season.

Konopa and the rest of the women's golf team will return to action at the Bluffton Beaver Fall Classic on October 10-11 in Findlay, Ohio, at Sycamore Springs Golf Course.
