ANGOLA, Ind. – The Capital University women's golf team opened up the 2026-27 season with a competition at the Trine Kickoff Classic in Angola, Indiana on Tuesday afternoon.
There, the Comets placed ninth out of 12 teams, carding an 18-hole score of 363. The hosts, Trine, won the event with a 18-hole score of 313.
Emma Konopa led the Comets with a T-26th finish individually thanks to a round of 87. She carded one birdie on the 16th hole.
Paige Leyda was next for Capital, finishing one stroke behind Konopa with an 88, tying for 32nd place. Leyda carded two birdies on the day on the seventh and 15th holes.

Macie Mauck and
Camryn Mauter tied for 41st after carding rounds of 94.
Francesca Hatheway rounded out the team portion with a score of 99.
Casey Peach competed as an individual, shooting a score of 114.
