Stephens, Hansen, Makris Earn All-OAC Recognition

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - On Thursday, May 14, three members of the Capital women's tennis program earned recognition as the Ohio Athletic Conference released its 2026 All-OAC teams. Freshman Scarlett Stephens headlined the honors with First Team All-OAC recognition, while senior Annika Hansen collected Second Team honors and freshman Stephanie Makris was named an honorable mention selection.

Hansen's selection marks the second All-OAC honor of her career, while Stephens and Makris each received the distinction for the first time.

Stephens was a steady force for the Comets throughout the season, posting an impressive 15-7 singles record, including a 3-1 mark in OAC competition. Primarily competing in the number one position, the freshman went 9-6 in the top spot. She also made four appearances at number two and excelled in the number three position, finishing a perfect 5-0. In doubles action, the Wellington, Florida native compiled a 7-11 overall record and added another 3-1 conference mark.

Hansen secured Second Team All-OAC honors after finishing the season with a 7-13 singles record and a 2-2 showing in conference play. The senior was a mainstay in the number three spot, where she posted a 5-4 record. In doubles competition, Hansen recorded an 8-12 mark, with her eight victories ranking second-most on the team.

Makris led Capital in doubles victories during her freshman campaign, finishing with a 10-11 overall record. All 21 of her doubles matches came in the number one position. The Cincinnati native also contributed regularly in singles play, recording an 8-14 mark on the season.
