BEREA, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team hit the road for their second OAC match of the season where they defeated hosts Baldwin Wallace by a final score of 7-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Comets improve to 6-10 overall and 1-1 in the conference, while BW drops to 8-3 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.
DOUBLES
Capital took a clean sweep of the doubles action in comfortable fashion.
The duo of
Scarlett Stephens and
Stephanie Makris defeated Colleen Andersen and Olivia Koutouras 6-1 at first doubles.
Annika Hansen and
Jenny Rollins teams to defeat Gillian Brown and Samantha Thielen, 6-1, at second doubles.
At third doubles,
Ella McGlynn and
Ashlyn Edwards paired up to defeat Kate Slutz and Sarah Sayyed, 6-0.
SINGLES
Again, the Comets swept every match of the singles portion of the overall match, sealing to 7-0 win for the team.
At the top spot, Stephens defeated Andersen 6-2, 6-0.
In second singles, Hansen defeated Koutouras 6-3, 6-0.
At third singles, Makris downed Brown 6-1, 6-2.
In the fourth spot, McGlynn won over Thielen 6-2, 7-5.
At fifth singles, Rollins beat Slutz 6-3, 6-4.
In the sixth spot, Edwards ousted Sayyed 6-0, 6-2.

Capital will continue a busy stretch of three days as they travel to No. 22 ranked Denison for a 10 a.m. match tomorrow, April 12th. The Comets will then head to Oberlin on Monday, April 13th.
