WESTERVILLE, Ohio – As announced on Wednesday morning, the Ohio Athletic Conference released the 2025-26 women's basketball All-Conference awards. Featured on the list for Capital University was the OAC Player of the Year and All-OAC First Team honoree
Samaree Perkins and All-OAC Honorable Mention selection
Kendall Spreen.
The recognition for Perkins makes her a four-time All-OAC honoree and a first-time OAC Player of the Year. In addition to her four All-OAC awards, Perkins was also named the 2023 OAC Freshman of the Year. Her OAC Player of the Year award makes two-in-a-row for the Comets as
Bri O'Connor earned the same award a season ago. This is the fifth time in program history in which Capital has won the OAC Player of the Year award in back-to-back seasons and the second time in program history the feat has been done by two different players. Furthermore, Perkins is now a three-time All-OAC First Team selection, joining O'Connor as the latest Comets to accomplish that feat. Perkins' four All-OAC awards makes her the first four-time All-OAC player since Sara Heitkamp from 2003-06.
For Spreen, this is her first career All-OAC recognition and is her second conference award of her career after she was named the OAC Player of the Week earlier this season.
During the 2025-26 regular season, Perkins led the OAC in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 20.4 points per game and 12.1 boards per game. Perkins converted 40% of her field goals this season, including 73.8% from the free throw line and 35.8% from three-point range. In addition to that output, Perkins contributed 36 assists, 26 steals and 23 blocks this season.
Spreen finished the season second on the team in scoring with 10.2 points per game. This season, Spreen scored at a 32.8% field goal percentage, including 29.1% from range, and 77.8% from the free throw line. In addition to her scoring efforts, Spreen added 68 rebounds, 32 assists, 27 steals, and six blocks.
The two selections marks the fourth season in a row in which the Comets have had at least two All-OAC honorees in the same season.
