Samaree Perkins Named All-America Honorable Mention by the WBCA

ATLANTA, Ga. –  As announced on Thursday, March 19th as part of the NCAA Championships weekend, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association has selected Capital University's Samaree Perkins as an Honorable Mention All-American. 

This is Perkins' first All-American accolade and makes her the 11th unique player in program history to earn All-America honors. Perkins' selection is the 25th All-American honor for Capital women's basketball among those 11 players. Perkins' award marks the second consecutive season Capital has earned WBCA All-America Honorable mention accolades as Bri O'Connor also earned the distinction in 2025. 

The award for Perkins adds to her list of postseason recognition this season that has featured awards such as OAC Player of the Year, All-OAC First Team, D3hoops.com All-Region First Team, and selection to the WBCA Senior All-Star Game set to be played this Saturday in Salem, Virginia. 

In the 2025-26 season, Perkins finished the season averaging 20.0 points per game and 12.0 rebounds per contest, all while adding 36 assists, 27 steals, and 23 blocks. Additionally, she finished in the top-15 nationally in double-doubles, free throws made, free throws attempted, points per game and rebounds per game.

Perkins is currently in the midst of WBCA All-Star events in Salem, Virginia. The all-stars will take part in various basketball related events throughout the Final Four weekend including playing in the all-star game at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21st just prior to the National Championship.
