WESTERVILLE, Ohio - For the second consecutive week, freshman sprinter
Kaylee Jackson has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, which was released Monday, Jan. 19. This brings the Capital University athletic department Athlete of the Week total to 15 this academic year.
Jackson had a busy weekend, competing in both the Akron University Al Campbell Invitational on Friday and the Otterbein Invitational on Saturday. In Akron, she would compete in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. The freshman would finish with a time of 8.13 in the 60, placing her as the top D3 finisher in the event. She would also be the top D3 finisher in the 200, her time of 25.63 sits just .04 seconds off of Capital's school record.
Despite running the day before, Jackson would not slow down at the Otterbein Invitational. She took part in the 4x400-meter relay that would bring home the victory in the event with a time of 4:10.96.
Jackson and the rest of the Capital University Track and Field team will compete next as the Ashland Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 24.
