NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Capital University track and field program saw 11 student-athletes earn Great Lakes All-Region honors for the indoor season as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Those being recognized as All-Region must have been a top-8 individual in each event in their region or on a top-8 relay team within the region.
As individuals, the Comets were represented by
Kaylee Jackson in the 200-meter dash,
Claire Robinson in the pole vault and
Nolan Piper in the weight throw. Additionally, Capital saw the men's 4x400-meter relay and the men's Distance Medley Relay earn All-Region. The 4x400-meter relay was composed of
Neko Henry,
Mershaud Parker,
Demetre Wheeler, and
Darron Robinson. The Distance Medley Relay was composed of
Chip Smith,
Neko Henry,
Mikey Arnone and
Kolin Brake.
Of the 11 total selections, the nine men's selections mark the most in one season for Capital since at least 2017 when five were recognized during the indoor season. The two selections for the women match the same total from 2023.
The team has concluded the indoor season and now has their sights set on the outdoor season which will begin on March 28th at the Denison Lid Lifter.
