FOSTORIA, Ohio – The Capital University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Heidelberg Fall Classic on Saturday afternoon as the Comets placed 12th of 14 teams in the field. As a team, the Comets shot a 36-hole score of 717, but notably dropped 14 strokes from day one to day two, while also moving up two spots in the team standings.
Calvin won the event with a team score of 629, while Heidelberg's Brooke Barnes was the medalist with an individual score of 150.
Freshman
Paige Leyda was the top player for Capital this weekend, finishing tied for 40th with a two-day score of 172. Leyda shot an opening round of 88 before dropping four strokes with an 84 on day two.
Emma Konopa was next for Capital after shedding 10 strokes in the second round, placing 45th overall with a combined tally of 174. Konopa opened up with a 92 before carding Capital's lowest score of the weekend on the second day with an 82.
Camryn Mauter shot a rather consistent 87-89–176 to place tied for 47th in the deep field of competitors.
Francesca Hatheway made up the team scoring with a 72nd place finish after rounds of 99-96–195.
Hannah Combs scored rounds of 103 and 102 to combine for 205, and
Macie Mauck scored a 105 and a 104 for a 209. Mauck played as an individual in the event.

Capital will next head to the Midwest Regional Fall Classic on September 19th and 20th in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
