WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Capital University women's golf team concluded play at the OAC Fall Preview on Sunday evening where the squad posted a third place finish out of the five teams present. The Comets had a two-day score of 688 which included a round of 335 on day two. The 335 18-hole score marked the second lowest team round in program history. The program's lowest ever score was a 329, scored at the 2018 OAC Championships on the same River Greens Course. Additionally, the 688 was the team's second lowest 36-hole score in program history. The previous low there was a 681 at the Purple and White Invitational in 2017.
The event was won by Heidelberg who scored 644 across the two-day event. The Student Princes' Lydia Dietz and Brooke Barnes tied for the individual win with scores of 154.
Individually, Capital was led by
Emma Konopa who placed sixth overall after carding a two-day score of 165, consisting of rounds of 81 and 84.
Michaela Skarkova was next for the Comets as she tied for 11th [;ace after submitting a scorecard of 170 (89-81).
Paige Leyda placed 15th in the event with a score of 175, featuring rounds of 90 and 85.
Camryn Mauter was the next Comet to place, finishing tied for 18th with a two-day score of 178. Her scorecard read 93 for day one and 85 for day two.
Francesca Hatheway rounded out the team portion, placing 32nd with a score of 201 after rounds of 101 and 100.
Playing as individuals,
Hannah Combs placed 29th overall with a 191 (93-98) and
Macie Mauck was 36th with a two-day total of 222 (108-114).

The Capital women's golf team will next be in action on Saturday, October 18th as they take part in their annual fall edition of the Battle for the Oar with Otterbein. Match play between the two teams is slated to take place at Northstar Golf Club.
