ANGOLA, Ind. – The Capital University women's tennis team traveled to Trine University on Wednesday afternoon where they were upended by a final score of 6-1.
The lone Comet point of the afternoon came as
Scarlett Stephens won her match-up at No. 2 singles.
Capital, now 2-2 overall, struggled to get going for much of the match, but gave it a whirl for much of the way.
In doubles action, the Thunder (4-0) took all three match-ups as
Annika Hansen and
Stephanie Makris were defeated 6-4,
Addison Kokensparger and
Scarlett Stephens were upended 6-1 and
Ashlyn Edwards and
Jenny Rollins fell 6-1.
In singles play, Stephens emerged with the win at No. 2 singles with a 6-4, 6-2 victory. Elsewhere,
Annika Hansen fell 1-6, 4-6,
Stephanie Makris lost 2-6, 5-7,
Jenny Rollins lost 1-6, 4-6,
Ashlyn Edwards fell 2-6, 4-6, and
Addison Kokensparger lost 0-6, 0-6.

Capital will be back on the court on Saturday, September 13th with two matches, both to be played at Wittenberg University. First, Capital will play Franklin at 12:30 before playing the hosts at 4 p.m.
