BEREA, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season on Saturday at Baldwin Wallace, ending with the Comets sweeping the Yellow Jackets 7-0. With the win CU secures the fourth and final spot in the OAC Women's Tennis Tournament.
DOUBLES
Cap started the day off strong with a clean sweep of doubles.
Anna Fletcher and
Nicole Flock took No. 1 doubles 6-2.
Annika Hansen and
Kylee Fliter secured No. 2 doubles 6-3.
Jenny Rollins and
Ashlyn Edwards would go to a tiebreak in No. 3 doubles but emerge victorious, 6-5 overall with a 9-7 score in the tiebreaker.
SINGLES
CU went on to seal the deal in singles with another clean sweep, 6-0. Rollins and Edwards won No. 5 and No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-0. Flock took her No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-0. Hansen secured a 6-1, 6-1 victory in No. 3 singles. Fletcher won No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2. Finally, Fliter finished victorious in No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-3.
UP NEXT
The Comets secure the four-seed in the OAC Tournament and will face one-seed Ohio Northern in the semifinals on Wednesday, April 30th. Start time for that match is still to be determined.
