Women’s Lacrosse Alumna Katie Page Joins Coaching Staff

COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Monday morning, Capital University women's lacrosse head coach Kara Concheck officially welcomed Katie Page back to Capital as she joins the coaching staff as an assistant coach. Page played her graduate season for the Comets and was a member of CU's first OAC Championship team in 2022 who went 20-1 and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance.

"My heart is bursting with joy to welcome Katie Page to our staff as our assistant coach. It is an honor to share the sideline with a fellow Columbus native, who was a former student-athlete of mine. Full circle moment that brings me such gratitude!" said Concheck. "Katie brings strong experience from a Division I stage at Saint Francis, and incredible value being a Capital women's lacrosse alumna, while completing her fifth year on the 2022 OAC Championship team. Katie will be a great leader for us especially on the defensive end with her diverse knowledge base, and a key asset to our midfielders between the lines as well. Katie will serve as an outstanding mentor for our student-athletes with her high character, passion, work ethic, and unwavering dedication. Welcome, Katie!"

In her single season with the Comets, Page started all 19 of her appearances, totalling 24 goals and five assists for 29 points, as well as 43 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers. Most notably, she finished the season third in the OAC in draw controls with an even 100 including a program single-game record 14 against Oberlin.

Prior to Capital, Page played four seasons at Division I Saint Francis, two of which were under Concheck. She tallied 52 appearances and 42 starts for the Red Flash with 63 ground balls, 37 caused turnovers, three draw controls, and two points off of one goal and one assist.

Since her playing days, Page has studied law at Capital University Law School and has worked in the office of Franklin County Commissioner Kevin L. Boyce.
