Leno and Burchfield Earn All-OAC Honors

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - On Monday morning, the Ohio Athletic Conference released the 2026 women's lacrosse postseason award selections.  Two Comets were recognized, with both Leah Leno and Brooke Burchfield receiving Honorable Mention selections.  This is the first time both athletes have received OAC honors in their respective careers.

Leah Leno led the Capital offense all season long, totaling a team-high 34 goals.  She would finish with 14 assists to bring her point total to a team leading 48.  The senior would score a career-high six goals in back to back games, first in a win over West Virginia Wesleyan on Mar. 7, then shortly after on Mar. 18 in a match-up with Adrian.  In addition to her strong offensive play, Leno totaled 25 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, and 20 draw controls.

Brooke Burchfield was a steady presence all season long in the cage for the Comets, logging 795:00 minutes of action in between the posts.  In that time, she totaled 140 saves for a percentage of .443.  Burchfield's strong season was highlighted by her performance against Ohio Northern on Apr. 15, where she had a career-high 22 saves.  That total placed her in second place in the program record books for a single game, just two behind the record holder in Maddie Wilson, who had 24 saves in a 2017 game.  To round out her strong year, the junior tallied a team-high 34 ground balls.
