Women’s Tennis Secures First Win of Season with Sweep of Franklin

Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Capital University women's tennis team earned their first win of the season on Saturday with a complete sweep of Franklin, 7-0.

DOUBLES
The Comets started the day off strong with three straight wins to take the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. The three teams of Anna Fletcher and Nicole Flock, Annika Hansen and Jenny Rollins, and Kylee Fliter and Kamrie Simon all won by scores of 6-1.

SINGLES
Cap kept it rolling in the second half of the day with six more wins in singles to complete the sweep and secure a 7-0 victory. Flock and Rollins rolled to dominant wins of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1. Fletcher followed suit with a 6-1, 6-1 win, Hansen did similarly with a 6-2, 6-2 result. Fliter was taken to a tiebreak but would end up with the win 7-5, 7-6, 8-6. Cassandra Phrakornkham won via forfeit.

The Comets are back on the court on September 26th against Earlham. That match will take place at Scarborough Tennis Club at 11:00 a.m.
