CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Capital University cross country team ventured west to Cedarville University on Friday evening to compete in the All-Ohio Championships on Friday evening.
There, the Comets competed strongly and showed great progress as the season continues to progress toward the back half of the year. The women placed 24th overall, while the men finished 19th in their race. Both the men's and the women's races featured more than 300 runners.
WOMEN
Grace Osborn led the seven Comets in the race, placing 85th overall in a time of 25:12.0. In what proved to be her first career 6K race, the time for Osborn was good enough to place her 19th on the all-time leaderboard at Capital.
Catherine Schaub was next for Cap, placing 214th in a time of 28:10.1.
Elizabeth Mak was close behind, placing 217th in 28:13.2.
Brenna Todd made her cross country debut this afternoon, placing 249th overall in a time of 29:34.8.
Olivia Ellis was the next Comet to finish, crossing the line in 30:26.9.
Grace Wolfe finished in 33:07.5 as she completed her first collegiate cross country race as well.
Charolette Knicely was the final Comet to cross the line, finishing in 39:36.0.
As a team, the Comets finished 24th overall amongst a field consisting of numerous high-level DI, DII, DIII and NAIA institutions from around the state.
MEN
Zach Glotzbecker paced the Comet men, finishing 80th in a time of 26:54.1.
Next to finish for Capital was
Mikey Arnone who toed the line 152nd overall in a time of 27:49.6.
Aaron McNutt was next in line for Cap, placing 172nd in a time of 28:03.6.
Joseph Countryman was the next Comet to cross the line in 28:10.5, placing 182nd.
Gunnar Yates and
Kolin Brake were next to finish for Cap, in times of 28:56.0 and 29:01.1, respectively. The time was a collegiate first for Yates.
Andrew Rouser clocked in at 31:35.8, while
Aiden Mahony finished in 31:51.6.
As a unit, the Comet men placed 19th overall in the challenging field of DI, DII, DIII and NAIA competition. Capital placed above OAC opposition, Heidelberg, Marietta and Muskingum in the effort.

Capital will return to the course on Friday, October 4th as they head a short ways north to compete in Ohio Wesleyan's Invitational.
