Men’s Tennis Swept at Wittenberg

Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Capital University men's tennis team dropped their Sunday matinee match on the road at Wittenberg University by a final score of 9-0. 

Capital's best look at a win on the day came at the #1 doubles position as Spencer Surles and Jesse Stevens narrowly fell 8-6 to the pairing of Ethan Libby and Kyle Fout. 

In the other two doubles matches, the pairings of Sam Williams and Jackson Havel and Alex Rowley and Nicholas Wines both fell via 8-2 scorelines. 

In singles play, it was again Surles who put up the strongest match in terms of scoring points as he ended his battle on the wrong end of a pair of 6-2 scores. 

Nicholas Wines also fought valiantly, falling 6-3, 6-0. 

Around the other four matches, Jackson Havel lost 6-0, 6-0; Jesse Stevens fell 6-1, 6-1; Alex Rowley lost 6-0, 6-0; and Sam Williams lost 6-1, 6-1.

The Comets will travel to Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio on March 10th where they will play two matches – one vs. the host SSU, and one vs. Prairie State.
