Box Score DELAWARE, Ohio – The Capital University men's tennis team (0-7, 0-0 OAC) traveled 40 minutes north to Ohio Wesleyan (2-2, 0-0 NCAC) on Saturday for a mid-afternoon matchup with the Bishops. The Comets started out slow in the doubles matches, dropping all three. After that, CU would secure one win in the singles, ending up on the wrong side of a 8-1 final score.
DOUBLES
Spencer Surles and
Jesse Stevens took their doubles match to a tiebreak, ultimately coming up short at 7-4 and 8-7 overall.
Nicholas Wines and
Alex Rowley would get one game win in their match, losing 8-1.
Jackson Havel and
Sam Williams were shut out 8-0.
SINGLES
Capital's solo singles win came courtesy of
Spencer Surles who took his opponent to a tiebreak after sets of 3-6 and 7-5, winning the tiebreaker 10-3.
Jackson Havel and
Alex Rowley each had 2-6, 0-6 results, with
Jesse Stevens getting a similar outcome of 0-6, 2-6. Both
Nicholas Wines and
Sam Williams would lose 0-6, 0-6.
