FINDLAY, Ohio – The Capital University cross country teams went to Findlay, Ohio's Hillcrest Golf Club for the OAC Championships on Saturday where both teams performed very well. The women matched the program's highest ever finish with a sixth place finish, while the men placed seventh.
John Carroll swept both the men's and women's titles.
For Cap,
Grace Osborn highlighted the day, finishing 16th overall, good for All-Conference and fourth all-time in program history. Her All-OAC finish marks the first for the program since Emma McCarron and Jessi Knoll accomplished the feat in 2012.
WOMEN
As mentioned,
Grace Osborn led the women with a 16th place finish, running a time of 22:42.4, settling into the fourth fastest 6K time in program history.
Elizabeth Mak placed 74th in a time of 25:00.6, followed closely by
Olivia Ellis who placed 79th in 25:14.1.
Catherine Schaub was not far back with a time of 25:22.1 in 84th place.
Brenna Todd placed 99th in a time of 27:00.2.
Grace Wolfe and
Alex Wilkinson crossed back-to-back as Wolfe placed 114th in 28:34.1 and Wilkinson was 115th in 28:43.3.
Charlotte Knicely was 125th in 32:28.0.
MEN
Joseph Countryman paced the squad with a 37th place finish in a time of 25:58.5. His time was good for 5th all-time on an 8K course in Cap history.
Kolin Brake was next for Cap with a time of 26:17.3, placing 44th.
Mikey Arnone was 45th in 26:20.8. Brake's time moved him up to 10th all-time in the event, while Arnone inched up to 11th.
Zach Glotzbecker placed 78th with a time of 27:07.8.
Aaron McNutt placed 118th in 28:02.9 and was right in front of
Gunnar Yates who clocked 28:03.3 for 119th.
Aiden Mahony was 138th in 28:49.5.
Andrew Rouser was 161st in 30:12.2.
Aiden Smith rounded it out with a time of 31:53.2, placing 169th.
