SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – The Capital University cross country program went to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet on Saturday, racing amongst a bevy of strong competition.
There, the Comet women placed 32nd as a team. DePauw University won the meet, edging out Calvin for the top spot. On the men's side, Capital placed 28th, while Calvin claimed the top spot.
WOMEN
Grace Osborn was the top finisher for Capital, clocking in at 23:51.69 and placing 75th.
Elizabeth Mak was next for Cap with a time of 25:56.54, good for 186th.
Catherine Schaub placed 194th in a time of 26:12.75.
Olivia Ellis was next, clocking in at 27:37.93 for 236th.
Alex Wilkinson rounded it out for Cap, racing in 29:52.37 for a 262nd place finish.
MEN
Joseph Countryman was the top finisher for Cap, placing 75th in 26:38.96.
Kolin Brake placed 125th in 27:22.56.
Gunnar Yates ran a time of 28:06.64 to place 160th.
Mikey Arnone crossed the line 167th in a time of 28:18.60.
Aaron McNutt placed 180th in a fashion of 28:45.32.
Aiden Mahony placed 199th in 29:06.01.
Zach Glotzbecker rounded it out for Cap, placing 214th in 29:36.27.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Comets will now await the NCAA selections for National Qualifiers to be released tomorrow (11/17). If anyone qualifies for nationals, that race will take place on Saturday, November 23rd in Terre Haute, Indiana. If there are no qualifiers for nationals, the Comets will take some time to prepare for their first Indoor Track meet to be held in early January.
