POWELL, Ohio – The Capital University cross country program ventured to Powell, Ohio where they competed in the OWU Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. The race was held at Liberty Park on a relatively flat course, leading to strong times all around.
As a team, the men placed ninth out of 22 teams. The men's race featured 246 individual runners. The women on the other hand placed 13th of 17 teams in a race that featured 176 individual runners.
MEN
The Capital men were led by
Kolin Brake who placed 23rd overall in a time of 26:44.4. That time was strong enough to set him 15th all-time in program history in the 8K.
Zach Glotzbecker was the next to finish for Cap, crossing the line 29th overall in 26:51.1. His time was a one-second PR, keeping him 17th overall in program history.
Next for the Comets was
Joseph Countryman who placed 59th in 27:27.3. Countryman was followed by
Mikey Arnone who crossed the line 88th overall in a time of 27:51.8.
Aaron McNutt finished in a time of 28:34.5 which placed him 133rd. Rounding out the Comets' performances were
Aiden Mahony (30:05.5),
Andrew Rouser (31:12.7), and
Aiden Smith (35:42.9).
WOMEN
The Comet women were paced by
Grace Osborn who finished the race 36th overall in a time of 23:50.0. That time was good enough to move her up into a three-way tie for 8th best in program history.
Catherine Schaub was the next Comet to cross the finish line, placing 111th in a time of 26:10.7.
Elizabeth Mak was right on Schaub's heels, placing 114th in a time of 26:17.2.
Olivia Ellis was next to finish, placing 132nd in a time of 26:54.4.
The next finisher for Cap was
Brenna Todd in a time of 27:18.8, placing her 138th.
Rounding out the placements for Capital were
Grace Wolfe (30:00.2) and
Alex Wilkinson (30:36.8).

The Comet cross country program will return to action in two weeks as they are scheduled to compete in the JennaStrong Fall Classic in Wilmington, Ohio on Friday, October 18th.
