MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team finished off their fall season on Wednesday with a 6-1 win at Mount Vernon Nazarene. The Comets took two-of-three doubles matches and five-of-six singles matches to secure the victory.
DOUBLES
CU got off to a strong start with pairs of Anna Flecther and
Nicole Flock, and
Kylee Fliter and
Cassandra Phrakornkham coming away with 6-1 and 6-2 wins respectively. The duo of
Annika Hansen and
Jenny Rollins would drop their match 4-6.
SINGLES
The Purple and White would pull away in singles with Flock, Hansen, Rollins, Fliter, and
Ashlyn Edwards all racking up wins. Fliter won in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-0. Flock and Edwards followed suit, only giving up four games a piece, 6-4, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-1 respectively. Rollins' match was a little closer but she still came away with a 7-6, 5-3 victory. Hansen was taken to a tiebreak but still squeaked out a 7-6, 6-3, 7-0 win. Fletcher was the only to fall short, losing 2-6, 6-3, 8-10 on tiebreak.

The Comets take a break for the winter and will be back on February 15th facing Oberlin on the road.
