GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Capital University men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Denison University Big Red Invitational on Sunday.
Like was the case on day one, the Comets were put up against some very challenging opponents over the weekend, with many of the region's top teams competing at the event.
"I am very happy with the improvement we have seen throughout the season," said head coach
Eric Sturgis. "I look forward to our last two matches of the fall."
On day two of the event,
Spencer Surles picked up his first singles win of the season, defeating his opponent from Ohio Northern. Surles teamed with
Thomas Secrist and finished off the weekend 3-0 in doubles action.

The Comets' next competition will take place at Mount Vernon Nazarene on October 5th.

The Capital University men's tennis team competed at the first day of the Denison Big Red Invitational on Saturday morning.
There, the Comets competed against a brutal slate of competition featuring some of the top teams in the region and the nation.
"I was proud of the way we competed today," said head coach
Eric Sturgis. "Tommy and Spencer got two very nice wins, and Tommy had a close three-set match in singles. We are improving each outing and I look forward to more tennis tomorrow."
