Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Capital University men's tennis team traveled to Mount Union on Friday for some afternoon OAC tennis action. The Comets were able to come away with a few points but not enough to secure the win, losing 6-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Capital took just one of the three doubles matches, starting the day on the downside.
Spencer Surles and
Brady Wink were the winning duo, victorious on an 8-7 (7-4) count.
Aaron Askew and
Jackson Havel came close, also forcing a tiebreak but coming up short 7-8 (2-7).
Thomas Secrist and
Colin Welch were defeated 2-8.
The Comets would only win two of the six singles matched, ending the day on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline.
Thomas Secrist and
Brady Wink were the one's who took down their opponents, both winning in three sets. Secrist went 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 while Wink went 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. The other results were as follows:
Spencer Surles (4-6, 4-6),
Colin Welch (2-6, 4-6),
Jesse Stevens (6-3, 2-6 [10-4]), and
Jackson Havel (1-6, 1-6).
