Box Score MASON, Ohio -- Playing at the world famous Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, the Capital University women's tennis team fell 5-0 to Otterbein in the OAC Tournament Semifinals, ending their best season since 2004.
The Comets conclude their season with an overall record of 10-8 and an OAC mark of 4-3. The record is Capital's first winning season since the program went 12-8 in 2004.
DOUBLES
Capital fell in all three doubles matches, falling behind 3-0 early. The Comets duo of
Anna Fletcher and
Nicole Flock fell at #1, 8-4. The number two pairing of
Rachel Smith and
Kylee Fliter lost 8-0. The final pairing of
Jenny Rollins and
Amy Wright-Lovell dropped third doubles 8-3.
SINGLES
The only two matches to conclude as Otterbein completed the sweep were
Rachel Smith (#3) and
Jenny Rollins (#4). Smith fell to Rachelle Moses 6-0, 6-1 and Rollins lost to Cassady Shough 6-0, 6-0.
Elsewhere on the singles courts,
Anna Fletcher was behind at #1, 6-0, 5-1;
Nicole Flock was trailing #2 6-0, 5-0;
Kylee Fliter was behind 6-2, 2-2 at #5; and
Ashlyn Edwards was trailing 6-0, 2-1 at #6 before their matches all went unfinished due to the score being clinched at 5-0.
