NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team traveled to Muskingum on Wednesday for an afternoon matchup against the Muskies. The Comets came through with a sweep in the end, 9-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Capital started strong in the doubles match, taking all three convincingly. The duos of
Rachel Smith and
Kylee Fliter, and
Amy Wright-Lovell and
Jenny Rollins won 8-2 while first doubles duo
Anna Fletcher and
Nicole Flock won their match 8-3.
The sweep was completed in singles after the Comets came home with all six matches.
Anna Fletcher was victorious 6-3, 6-3 in first singles. Flock finished second singles with 6-1, 6-1 wins.
Rachel Smith won a 10-7 tiebreaker in third singles after dropping set one 4-6 and winning set two 6-1.
Jenny Rollins kept it rolling in fourth singles 6-4, 6-3. It was
Kylee Fliter in fifth singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win. And finally,
Ashlyn Edwards finished things off in sixth singles, 6-2, 6-2.
