Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team took to the court again on Sunday with a successful day against Earlham College. The Comets soundly defeated the Quaker's by a score of 8-1 at the Whetstone Park of Roses.
DOUBLES
Capital's doubles teams had a fantastic day, taking all three points from the session. The doubles pairing of
Anna Fletcher and
Nicole Flock won 8-5. Abby Hornack and
Rachel Smith were also victorious, winning 8-3. And the team of
Amy Wright-Lovell and
Jenny Rollins secured the sweep, winning 8-0.
SINGLES
Earlham was able to get a point back in the singles matches after Madisen Cherry defeated
Anna Fletcher 5-7 in the first set and by the same score in the second set.
Nicole Flock got the Comets back on track with 6-1 win in her first set and a 6-0 win in the second.
It was smooth sailing from then on as Capital swept the remaining four matches. Abby Hornack won 6-0 and 6-3.
Amy Wright-Lovell,
Rachel Smith, and
Kylee Fliter all went undefeated in their matches, winning both of their sets 6-0.
