COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Volleyball endured two losses at the hands of John Carroll University on Friday night. The Blue Streaks defeated Capital, 3-0, in back-to-back matches at The Capital Center, drawing their 2020-21 overall record to 0-8.
MATCH 1 | L, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-21)

- Capital hit .128 over the course of the match with its best set coming in the third when the team posted a .211 success rate (13-5-38).
- John Carroll hit about 25 percent in all three sets, topping out at 32.4 percent in the second set (17-5-37).
- The Blue Streaks' Jennifer Follmer and Abigail Kirk led both sides with 13 kills, each. Both sported hit percentages of .320 or higher.
- Delanie Nahikian had a team-high eight kills on 22 attempts, good for a .273 attack percentage. Freshmen Alissa Holler and Lindsay Rich each posted five kills.
- JCU held a 6-4 block advantage at the net, paced by Cassi Calamunci and Ava Nice whom had two block assists, each.

- John Carroll's offense continued to roll with kill rates of .250, .357 and .345 over the course of the match, leading to a .307 attack percentage in match two.
- Capital committed 26 attack errors, in addition to seven unforced errors, to John Carroll's eight miscues on the offensive end.
- Nahikian again led Cap with a second set of eight kills, while adding two block assists.
- Freshman Audrey James hit .286 behind seven kills on 21 attempts, committing just one error in the match.
- John Carroll posted eight total blocks at the net, led by Ava Nice's five block assists. Four different Blue Streaks posted three or more block assists in the second match.
- Carleen Ellerbruch led her team with eight kills and was one of three JCU players with three blocks assists.
UP NEXT
Capital (0-8) will now prepare for another home set of matches, this time against Marietta College on Tuesday, March 23. The first match will begin at 6 p.m. from inside The Capital Center.
