TIFFIN, Ohio –  The Capital University volleyball team played a pair of matches against Heidelberg University in Seiberling Gymnasium on Tuesday night, dropping both the Student Princes. Capital is now 0-6 on the year heading into this Friday's home contest against John Carroll University.
MATCH 1 | L, 3-0 (9-25, 16-25, 20-25)

Capital's offense continue to struggle generating points after back-to-back sets with negative hit percentages. Heidelberg posted four blocks to combine with Cap's 26 combined attack and service errors leading to sizable wins.
Freshman
Lindsay Rich (Kettering, Ohio/Archbishop) performed well behind a team-leading seven kills and just four errors. She hit .125 in the first match. Sophomore
Jenay Kocsis dishes out 12 assists.
Heidelberg was paced by Maddie Szawranskyj's 12 kills and .611 success rate on the attack. As a team, Heidelberg hit .236 over the course of the match and .500 in the first set alone.

Capital's hit percentages saw improvement in the second match of the night, but still yielded a three-set loss.
The first set proved most competitive, taking a 15-15 tie into the latter portion of the opening frame. Heidelberg then slowly separated itself from Cap with help from two service aces and kills from three different Student Princes.
Heidelberg hit .400 or better in each of the last two sets paced by Ashley Foster (9-3-12) and Maddie Szawranskyj (8-0-11). Foster was also involved in two blocks.
Capital freshman
Grace Grundy had a standout game with eight kills, one error and a .700 kill percentage. Junior
Emily Cooper (Harnersville, Ohio/Western Brown) set a new career high with 17 assists in the match.
NEXT UP
Capital (0-6) will seek its first win of the season in its next action on Friday, March 19. The Crusaders will host John Carroll University at The Capital Center for a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m.
