Men's Tennis Falls at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – Capital University Men's Tennis dropped its Ohio Athletic Conference opening match to John Carroll University, 8-1, on Sunday afternoon. They will rebound with an OAC trimatch with Otterbein University and Heidelberg University next Saturday, in search of their first conference win.

John Carroll (5-6, 3-0 OAC) created a huge advantage by jumping out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping through doubles play. That trend continued through the top three flights of singles bouts that featured Luke Buchanan, Dale Booher, and GianCarlo DiMichaelangelo. Sophomore C.J. Martin earned Capital's lone victory, defeating Nick Siciliano in a tiebreaker (4-6, 6-3, 10-6) in the number four singles bout.

Beau Streety and Jared Judson closed out Capital's lineup, falling in each of their respective singles matches.

Capital (5-8, 0-1 OAC) will host two home matches, both in conference, next Saturday, April 9. They will host Heidelberg at 12 p.m. and rival Otterbein at 3:30 p.m. at the CU Tennis Courts.
