Women's Tennis Drops 8-1 Decision at Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team lost, 8-1, to Marietta College on Wednesday evening. Capital is now 0-7 overall on the season, and 0-4 in conference play.

Earning Capital's lone point was senior Jennie Schott (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central), who has recently returned to the Crusaders lineup after serving an academic internship, won her first match of the spring season in tiebreaking fashion. She downed Elyssa Ackerman 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4) to get Capital on the board.

Amy Stammen made her debut with the team, but lost to Latrice Nelson (6-0, 6-2).

Capital will host Baldwin Wallace University in its next match on Saturday, April 23. First service is set for 1 p.m. at the CU Tennis Courts.
