Crusaders House Bulldogs, 7-2

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital Men's Tennis commanded Saturday morning's match against the Adrian College Bulldogs. The Crusaders improved to 2-1 overall with their 7-2 win at the CU Tennis Courts.

Strong doubles play started the match off well as the Crusaders swept up each of the three flights. While the combinations of Dale Booher and Jesse Faulkner plus Beau Streety and Jared Judson rolled to wins, the top-flight match was a bout that pitched entertainment and a severe momentum shift. Luke Buchanan and C.J. Martin paired up and battled to a 9-7 victory over the Bulldogs Joey Loselle and Michael Mertz.

Buchanan replicated that effort in the No. 1 singles match, but again battled with Loselle in a three-set victory. Buchanan came from behind after dropping the first set 3-6 to come out with a 6-1 and 7-6 response.

Capital took victories in the third, fourth and fifth flight of singles matches which featured wins by Booher (6-3, 6-2), Judson (7-6, 6-3) and Streety (6-3, 6-2).

While dual match play has concluded for the Crusaders, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Fall Tournament will welcome multiple Crusaders in St. Louis, Mo. Washington University will play host to the tournament from Sept. 25-28.
