Women's Tennis Downed by Purple Raiders

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team was defeated by the University of Mount Union, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon. They are now 2-6 overall and 1-3 against conference competition.

Mount Union stole the top two flights without surrendering a point while no Crusaders was able to mark up more than two in any set during singles play.

Capital started on a rough note by dropping all three doubles matches. The Crusaders' top team consisting of senior Corinne Hohenstein (Sidney, Ohio) and senior Alyssa Trier (Venetia, Pa.) provided the Raiders' best challenge, but fell short by a count of 8-4.

Capital (2-6, 1-3 OAC) has now lost three of its last four matches. They will look to rebound at Marietta on Tuesday, April 14 when the Crusaders take on the Pioneers at 3:30 p.m.
