NEW CONCORD, Ohio – A day removed from its loss against Otterbein University, the Capital University women's tennis team rebounded with a shutout road victory at Muskingum University, Tuesday afternoon.
Capital (2-5 overall, 1-3 OAC) ruled the Muskingum Courts by sweeping through doubles play with wins coming from the combinations of Corinne Hohenstein and Jennie Schott (8-2), Ashlin Gable and Caitlyn McDivitt (8-4), and Halle Kevern and Taylor Jenkins (8-6).
When the Crusaders entered singles play, they continued to role with Gable earning a 6-2, 6-2 win over Laura Kalesse in the top-flight matchup. Hohenstein continued, surrendering just one game to Rebecca Keeley.
Schott downed Elizabeth Knauss by scores of 6-2 and 6-0. Recent addition Kevern and Jenkins earned their first singles wins as members of the team. McDivitt earned her second singles win in three matches out of the No. 5 spot.
The Crusaders will play their next two matches at home, both against OAC opponents. They will host Heidelberg University on Tuesday, April 7 and then return on Saturday, April 11 versus the University Mount Union.
