Women's Tennis Falls to Otterbein, 9-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Otterbein University at the CU Tennis Courts, Monday afternoon.

Out of the gate, the Cardinals took control of the match with a sweep in doubles play. The Capital combinations of Corinne Hohenstein and Jennie Schott, Ashlin Gable and Caitlyn McDivitt, and Taylor Jenkins and Halle Kevern all lost their respective matches to give the Cardinals a commanding lead.

Things did not fare any better for the Crusaders in singles play. Otterbein (5-4, 1-1 OAC) rolled through each of the six head-to-head matches. Hohenstein nearly pulled off a first-set win over Emma Krummel but fell 7-5, swinging the momentum to the other side of the net. Krummel finished the match with a 6-1 victory.

Capital (1-5, 0-2 OAC) will head to Muskingum University Tuesday, March 31 in their next action. First service is set for 3:30 p.m.
