The Capital University women's tennis team visited its cross-town rival Saturday and was defeated 9-0 against Otterbein in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match at Clements Recreation Center in Westerville.
The Crusaders fell to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the OAC, while the Cardinals improved to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in the league.
Junior Alyssa Trier (Venetia, Pa.) and sophomore Ashlin Gable (Bluffton, Ohio) took one game at No. 1 doubles. Gable also took two games in the first set of her singles match at the No. 2 slot.
Junior Corinne Hohenstein (Sidney, Ohio) picked up two games in the second set at the third singles position, while sophomore Jennie Schott (Pickerington, Ohio) took a game in the first set at No. 4.
Sophomore Kelsey Niese (Shelby, Ohio) took one game each in the first and second sets at No. 6 singles.
Capital resumes conference play Wednesday against Muskingum. First serve is slated for 3:30 p.m. at the Capital Tennis Courts.
