Women's Tennis Downed Against Mount Union

COLUMBUS – The Capital University women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat Wednesday against Mount Union in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match at the Capital Tennis Courts.

 

The Crusaders (7-8 overall, 4-2 OAC), who entered the affair at 4-2 over their last six matches, lost all three contests in doubles and were unable to change the momentum in singles.

 

Sophomore Corinne Hohenstein (Sidney, Ohio) stretched her No. 4 singles match to three sets with a second-set triumph, but eventually fell 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7) against Taylor Dowling of the Purple Raiders (11-5, 5-2).

 

Capital resumes play Monday at John Carroll. Play is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in University Heights, Ohio. It's the first of three dual matches next week for the Crusaders.
