The Capital University women's tennis team continued non-conference play Friday with a 6-3 setback at Ohio Wesleyan in a dual match at Luttinger Family Tennis Center in Delaware, Ohio.

Sophomore Corinne Hohenstein (Sidney, Ohio) and junior Sara Ireland (Charleston, W.Va.) picked up singles victories to lead the Crusaders (2-5). Hohenstein knocked off Olivia Ozanne of the Bishops (2-8) at the No. 5 spot by a 6-3, 6-0 tally, while Ireland, the team's No. 6 player, bested OWU's Vendala Clark 6-4, 6-4. Hohenstein improved to 3-3 on the year, while Ireland picked up her first win of the year.

Juniors Kathryn MacFarland (Clyde, Ohio) and Elisabeth McLaughlin (Granville, Ohio) combined for an 8-1 triumph at third doubles. Capital nearly took a pair of doubles matches as the No. 2 duo of sophomore Alyssa Trier (Venetia, Pa.) and freshman Jennie Schott (Pickerington, Ohio), which leads the team in doubles wins, fell just short in an 8-6 defeat.

Capital opens Ohio Athletic Conference play tomorrow at Heidelberg. The dual match is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Tiffin, Ohio.
